How to make Colloidal Silver

I have been making and using CS for over 30 years. Before discovering homeopathy, I would make and use several gallons monthly. I have shared my CS set up before on assorted platforms but this is the first time on my own website. There is no need to spend hundreds of dollars on a generator or $20+ per bottle for a name brand colloidal silver product.

But, first, let me clear up a few things and share some history of the use of silver. Silver is a NOBLE metal, not a HEAVY metal like mercury. Colloidal silver does NOT boost immune function contrary to claims by some sellers. It is a general biocide and kills pathogens. Biocides do not know good bacteria from unwelcome pathogens. Immune boosters are good lifestyle habits like consuming clean minimally processed foods, restful sleep for 7-8 hours each night, daily exercise, and sunshine (to convert 7-dehydrocholesterol found in your skin the natural way since Vitamin D is technically a hormone). Gardening is a great way to get all four of these - you get real food products that you sweated over while working in the sunshine because digging and using other garden tools is absolutely exercise and you get a work-out that can knock you out for the night. Cleaning out my flowerbeds yesterday knocked me out last night. Hydration is also critical for immune as well as many other functions as it helps flush out toxins produced by pathogens as well as the pathogens themselves. And, let's not forget those good bacteria that populate our guts providing 70-80% of our immune cells, so consumption of foods rich in these microbes like kefirs, kombucha, kraut, pickles, kimchee, and other ferments would help your immune system. You can ferment veggies that you grow in your garden.

Why use CS? Prior to the discovery of penicillin in 1928, colloidal silver was used extensively and was listed in the Physician's Desk Reference of the time as a treatment for a variety of symptoms. NASA used a silver based water purification system in the early spacecraft and though the USA uses iodine currently, silver is in use by the Russians on the ISS. This system was selected over other options because it was light, required minimal power, and successfully eliminated bacteria including E. coli, Pseudomonas, Legionella Pneumophila (Legionnaires' disease), Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Salmonella, and others. NASA's use led to development of other commercial and industrial applications such as silver water filters used in modern aircraft by NanoFilter Solutions or Pall Aerospace. Read this article by the WHO on silver in water filtration. Silver is also being used in clothing design by incorporating silver into the fabrics. It has been shown to reduce pathogens as a biocide (see PubMed articles) and control odor causing organisms. It has also been effective in shielding from the negative effects some experience with EMF.

Making it is super simple. I make CS by the gallon when I make it. I use it mostly for cleaning now. It’s not reactive on surfaces or textiles like vinegar or peroxide can be so it won’t bleach out surfaces or textiles. It can be used in a nebulizer or Neti pot. It can be used topically. It can be sprayed in the eyes, nose, ears, or throat although I don’t do that much anymore since getting my homeopathic kit.

• distilled water (buy locally),
• new abrasive nylon pad (I use a green scotch-brite)
• 99.99% silver wire (order only from someone with the chemical analysis - it should be included and not cost an extra fee)

• clean stainless bowl like this or this stainless jug which can also be used for storage of your brew,
• (3) 9V batteries,
• two wires with alligator clips at each end,
• piece of cardboard large enough to cover bowl (♻️ a 📦 )

• laser pointer
• TDS meter,

	Poke a hole in the middle of the cardboard
Clean the silver wire of any oxidation using an abrasive pad
s	Connect batteries in serie
Fill bowl with distilled water
Optional step: use TDS to check your distilled water
	Clip positive end of batteries to silver wire & submerge at least 1” of cleaned wire in water
Clip negative end of batteries to stainless bowl
	Wait 48 hours - I cover my brew up with a flour sack tea towel
Run product though a paper coffee filter
	There may be some silver dust deposited on your stainless container
Optional step: use a laser to check your CS
Store in a cool dark place

• Atlantean Alchemy Colloidal Silver - 1 Gallon, 60 PPM
• NutriNoche Colloidal Silver Mineral Liquid Supplement - 1 Gallon, 30 PPM

• Internal use of impure water in the brewing process can result in a product that is NOT colloidal silver and can lead to argyria (irreversible bluing of the skin). I am 57 and for many years while using this recipe for over 30 years, I consumed well over a gallon monthly with zero known side effects. But, as mentioned, we no longer consume it daily because we have started using homeopathy.
  
• Colloidal silver is not FDA approved and never will be although there are products incorporating silver or CS which are FDA-approved. Silver is an element and CS is silver ions in pure water (which is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen - two other elements), therefore, like cannabis, aloe, and other natural remedies, cannot be patented for dominance in the marketplace as a drug.
  
• This CS generator does not include any process for current or voltage control. I've never had it happen in over 30 years of brewing this way, but it is possible that alkaline batteries may explode when wired in series without any controls. To alleviate any concerns about this potential, insert a 24 volt light bulb in series.
